Sri Lanka removes COVID vaccination, negative PCR requirement

Government of Sri Lanka has lifted the the mandatory requirement to produce a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or negative PCR report on arrival with effect from 7th December 2022. 

Therefor all overseas arrivals are no longer required to produce a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), done before boarding, Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Asela Gunawardena stated. (Ada Derana News 7 Dec 2022) 
Additionally, if a foreign national tested positive for COVID-19 during their holiday in Sri Lanka, they will be required to self-isolate for a period of seven days at their residence, a private hospital, or a hotel, and bear all related costs, he added.


This decision will help to enhance the no of tourist arrival to Sri Lanka which awaiting tourism development after covid pandemic and subsequently financial crisis.
